THIS is why people climb up at the end of the day, aside from the fact that it's too hot earlier. The sunset here is great!

This long trek up the mountain is not as bad as it looks.

Many people waited for elephant rides to the top after first looking at the climb.

Once you've reached the mountain top you find this flat area at the base of the structure.

Then comes more climbing.

Somehow the long climb down this mountain was at least as hard as the ascent.

This is one of the towers up on top of Phnom Bakheng. Most of the people seemed too hot and tired to appreciate it.

The panoramic views atop Phnom Bakheng are wonderful. If you look closely you can see Angkor Wat in the background.
