This great motif is unique to this citadel, along with many great decorations on the frames of arches & doorways.

This is typical of everything here - intricately decorated. This compound is a favorite for this reason. (Patti, Bob & Barb)

It is amazing that Banteay Srei is so well preserved. It was only re-discovered in 1914.
